At SFW, we believe that each person can help no matter how small the contribution. Together we can make a difference, we can help businesses start all over, help them grow, flourish, and even explore new horizons.
Let’s all lend a helping hand! With SFW, you can chose what suits you better, from volunteering to internships that can lead then, to a full-time job offer.
Volunteering with Stand for Women was a truly enlightening experience of what women’s businesses go through nowadays in our society. It was a true honor seeing how much this NGO cares about helping women stand on their own so they can sustain a business to support them. Women businesses will never suffer again as long as we have people to “stand for women”.
I had an amazing time volunteering with Stand For Women! I was completely immersed in their work and really felt like I was making a difference.
The staff was welcoming and informative, and I really enjoyed the diversity of the project. I would highly recommend this organization to anyone looking for an amazing opportunity to make a difference in the world.
I joined SFW as an intern in December 2022 and this is my last month with them. If I were to describe this journey in a few words, I would put it like this: the magic of being part of a women’s team supporting other women. As simple (and poetic) as this sounds, it was actually one of my best experiences so far. I was assigned to follow up with a woman owner of a one-dollar shop. Besides the procurement of stock and improving the shop’s display, which led to an increase in sales, I got to meet the owner, what made it all special, and listened to her needs. I strongly believe in the power of human connections and that no work would be successful if it’s not based on real connections.
I had the opportunity to work alongside Stand for Women. As a French student, I went to Lebanon to join the team and try to help. I was touched by all the encounters in Beirut: the explosion of the port has broken many Lebanese people, but once again, the people show exemplary courage and magnificent mutual aid.
Stand for Women has therefore allowed me to be in direct contact with women victims of the explosions; Many of them are fighting for their businesses. Working with Stand for Women was for me many things: meet the women from traveling in the country, support financially the women in their projects, encourage them by running the Beirut Marathon for Women, discover their different talents (cooking, beauty, fashion…) and so on! It was a unique experience that allowed me to bring my brick to the building; a real and direct way to help Lebanese women in their professional lives. I am very proud to have been able to work alongside Caroline Fattal and her team, each of them represents a hope for the struggle for women’s rights and the emancipation of women in the Arab world.
During my stay in Lebanon, I had the opportunity to work with Stand For Women for a short period of time. I was introduced to all the team members that taught me various ideas in a diverse way. Hence my objective was focused on the merchandising projects to launch our products in order to sell them and attract our surrounding to give a wider vision for the NGO. I also was responsible for creating a sales assumption for the new products, however from time to time I had to join small vents held by Stand for Women. I am pleased to have had this wonderful experience and be surrounded by a comfortable and friendly environment.
This internship allowed me to discover the inside and the functioning of an NGO. I loved being in contact with the beneficiaries and talking with them. I had the opportunity to do a lot of tasks like writing the impact report and the newsletter. I was also able to discover the world of communication by taking care of the content of the Twitter page.
I did a 6-months internship in SFW, essentially helping the Project and General Managers through social media communication, fundings seeking and gender advocacy. The team helped me to understand how Lebanese CSO work with their beneficiaries – directly on the field, they explained to me tools they are using and gave me keys to develop my capacity in working abroad. What I liked the most is certainly the fact they followed me since the beginning for me to be in the best environment, since I came in Lebanon alone. They trusted me and gave me some responsibilities. I would have loved to stay longer because a small team involves more time to achieve each project, but it is surely the best way to develop your skills and boost your implication in each task.
Thank you!
