Caroline Fattal

Founder

Biography

Corporate Experience

Throughout her career in the fast-moving consumer goods industry, Caroline has held management roles in Europe, Latin America & the Middle East—learning best practices from the likes of Unilever, Mondelez and Johnson & Johnson.

She started her marketing career in Unilever’s European Business Group based in Paris, then transferred to Buenos Aires where she grew to become Marketing Manager handling innovation, product launches, consumer research, advertising and brand development for a key brand.

Caroline later moved to Lebanon where she became the Sales Director of Unilever Levant’s newly established operation. She pioneered by being the only woman Sales Director in Unilever Asia Middle East & North Africa and the only woman ExCo Member of Unilever Levant.

Two challenges she faced were building a sales organization from ground up and transforming annual sales plans with channel strategies into reliable execution that exceeded expectations and targets.

Following her Unilever experience, Caroline joined her family’s business, Fattal Group, first as Assistant General Manager of the Food & Beverage division, later as Chief Operating Officer of the entire group together with being entrusted the turnaround of the Iraqi affiliate. She serves today as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors.

Since 2014, Caroline has been repeatedly recognized by the magazine Forbes Middle East as one of the “100 Most powerful Arab Women in Business”.

Caroline is an angel investor in the first Lebanese Women Angel Fund and a formal mentor for both women
entrepreneurs and corporate leaders. She is the founder of “Stand For Women”, a social enterprise advocating for women empowerment and gender equality in MENA.

Caroline has lived and worked in France, Argentina, Dubai, Cyprus and Lebanon. She is married to Charbel Fakhoury and a mother of four lovely kids.

Coaching Practice

Caroline combines 25 years corporate business experience with the skills of a certified professional business coach.

Her experience as ExCo Member of Unilever Levant & Board Member of her family’s business Fattal Group and other institutions makes her aware of challenges facing shareholders, chairmen, board members, CEOs and non-execs.

Based on her own experience and her work with many businesses, Caroline can appreciate the complex and powerful relationship dynamics of a top management team at Executive and Boardroom level. She is a sought-after speaker and workshop facilitator on the topic of family business, and women’s leadership at the board level — how to get there and how best to contribute.
